Martin McGartland was an informer for the British police during the height of the IRA struggle in Ireland in the late 80s. Seen as possibly one of the worst crimes against humanity – in the eyes of the IRA, that is – Martin is still in hiding to this day, and the IRA are still out for his blood.The film is loosely based on his life and has, of course, been injected with its fair share of Hollywood glitter to make it more globally appealing. It’s not quite In the Name of the Father, but it packs a good action punch and keeps you pretty much glued. Rating: 4 outta 5.
