A remake of the rather dire 1981 film, this 21st Century version comes complete with a slithering oversized scorpion and a pretty impressive cast. Sadly each one of them will go to their graves trying to forget that they ever took part in such a bastardisation of fantasy.On paper it checks all the right boxes: cool effects, big scary monsters and an epic battle between good and evil, but this doesn’t translate on screen. On the contrary you’re bound to be bored or asleep in about 5 minutes flat.
